Licensed WebSpellChecker Installation Instructions

To get the Licensed version of WebSpellChecker application please download the appropriate version from the reference list below and get a license.
WebSpellChecker.net Version 3.3.1 for Linux (WSC, SCAYT 2.6.2) - New version. Recommended to all new clients
WebSpellChecker.net Version 3.2.2 for Linux (WSC, SCAYT 2.5) - Previous version.

How to get a license for WebSpellChecker

You must use a combination of your user name, a License Request string, and a License Reply string to get a WebSpellChecker license. The following procedure describes how to get the License Request and License Reply strings.

1. Download the WebSpellChecker installation package.
2. Unpack the package to a location on your computer.
3. Install the application by following the installation instructions placed inside the package.

Note: Installation of the “Sample” component is optional. This component provides sample Web pages that you can use for testing WebSpellChecker.

4. Request the license for Application Server. Execute command “sh <BASE_DIR>/WSC/AppServer/requestLicense.sh” to do it. The ”<BASE_DIR>” is the path to the directory where you unpacked the package to.
5. Enter your name or your company on the “UserId” prompt. Your License Request string is generated and displayed below.
6. To get a License Reply string, follow the instructions in the e-mail message with the subject “WebSpellChecker.net Tickets for license request”, which you should have already received.

Important: You can terminate the requestLicense.sh script while waiting for a License Reply string. You can re-start this script at any time. Make sure that the “UserId” parameter is the same user name as the one for which the License Request string was generated.

7. When you receive a License Reply string, enter it in the “License Reply” box on the “Please enter license reply” prompt.
8. The script displays the message “License confirmed” if the license Reply is correct.

    The license is activated, and you can use the application now.

How to start the WebSpellChecker Application Server

To check the spelling on Web sites, WebSpellChecker requires its Application Server application to be running.

After getting a license, you must restart the WebSpellChecker Application Server application by performing executing command “sh <BASE_DIR>/WSC/AppServer/requestLicense.sh”. The ”<BASE_DIR>” is the path to the directory where you unpacked the package to.
